Solid results on May 27 to end the week.
All main indexes increased on May 27, with the VN-Index closing 3.77 points (0.62 per cent) higher and the VN30-Index 3.84 points (0.63 per cent) on HSX and the HNX-Index rising 0.33 points (0.41 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 0.91 points (0.63 per cent) on HNX.
The UpCoM Index, however, closed down 0.16 points (0.29 per cent).
HSX saw 134 shares increase and 73 decrease, while HNX saw 165 increase and 113 decrease.
The VN-Index traded in positive territory all day. In the morning it increased gradually, to 606.98 points by the close, and in the afternoon reached a peak of 609.68 points in the middle of the session before easing to 608.11 points at the close.
VNM increased 1.4 per cent.
Among large banking shares, VCB closed at its opening price while CTG and BID increased 1.8 per cent and 1.7 per cent, respectively. STB also increased, by 2.7 per cent, and MBB 0.7 per cent while EIB was down 0.8 per cent.
VIC rose 1 per cent and MSN and BVH closed at their opening price.
Oil and gas shares didn’t fare so well, with PVD down 2 per cent and GAS 0.9 per cent.
Oil and gas shares down on HNX included PVC, by 1.4 per cent, PGS and PVS 1.1 per cent, and PLC 0.3 per cent.
SHB, DBC, ACB and PVI increased 1.6 per cent, 1.5 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 0.4 per cent, respectively.
Foreign investors net bought on both markets, by some VND92 billion ($4.11 million) on HSX and by VND12 billion ($536,160) on HNX.
