Good performance all round on April 21.
April 21 was a good day for all indexes on Vietnam’s stock market. On HSX the VN-Index rose 7.70 points (1.36 per cent) and the VN30-Index 7.41 points (1.29 per cent), while on HNX the HNX-Index increased 0.32 points (0.4 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 1.74 points (1.24 per cent).
HSX saw 151 shares increasing and 71 decreasing, while HNX saw 130 increasing and 92 decreasing.
The VN-Index fluctuated around 572 points the entire morning before increasing to a peak of 577.35 points in the middle of the afternoon session and then dipping slightly to close the day at 575.73 points.
Liquidity was a touch low, with some VND1.8 trillion ($80.76 million) changing hands via order matching.
GAS was the impressive performer among large caps, increasing 3.57 per cent in the morning and 6.2 per cent over the course of the day’s trade. It also saw among the highest liquidity, with some VND70 billion ($3.14 million) changing hands.
It was a good day overall for oil and gas shares, as on HSX PVD increased 5.75 per cent, CNG 2.63 per cent and PGD 1.40 per cent.
BHS saw the highest liquidity, with its increase of 5.8 per cent contributing greatly to the higher close.
Almost all large caps on HSX increased, except for CTG, which closed at its opening price. MSN rose 3.7 per cent, BVH 2.9 per cent, VIC 2 per cent, BID 1.3 per cent, VNM 0.7 per cent and VCB 0.2 per cent.
Oil and gas shares leading on HNX included PVC, up 4.58 per cent, PVS 4.43 per cent, PVB 3.29 per cent and PGS 1.56 per cent.
Foreign investors net bought on both markets, by VND74 billion ($3.32 million) on HSX and VND7 billion ($314,090) on HNX.
