Citi Vietnam gets cycling program underway in bid to promote healthy lifestyles and environmental issues.
Citi Vietnam recently kicked off a cycling program in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City called “Bike with Citi - Enjoy Eco-Life”.
The program aims at promoting a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness about climate change, sustainable development, and environmental protection among the bank’s employees and customers in Vietnam. “The Citi biking program is another exciting opportunity to contribute to the local community,” said Ms. Natasha Ansell, CCO at Citi Vietnam. “Through blue bicycles adorned with the Citi logo riding around streets we are sending a green message calling on the community to support and participate in this important cause.”
The bank offers both employees and customers an exciting cycling experience on the 200 blue bicycles. Ninety of the bicycles will be presented to top Citibank Visa debit card customers with the highest number of transactions on their cards during selected months.
The cycling program is part of the bank’s intensive efforts in preserving environmental sustainability and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Earlier this year over 800 volunteers, including Citi Vietnam employees and their with spouses, children and friends, joined the bank’s traditional Global Community Day in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
During its 20 years in Vietnam Citi has been proactively engaged in social philanthropy programs, including financial education projects, vocational training for young professionals, and sponsorship of the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award, which recognizes the efforts of the microfinance community in poverty alleviation.
