Markets close in opposite direction on July 6.
July 6 saw indexes on HSX fall and those on HNX increase. The VN-Index fell 1.42 points (0.22 per cent) and the VN30-Index 0.09 points (0.01 per cent) on HSX while on HNX the HNX-Index increased 0.78 points (0.91 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 2.48 points (1.6 per cent).
HSX saw 114 shares increasing and 117 decreasing, while HNX saw 150 increasing and 131 decreasing.
Liquidity on HSX reached VND2.3 trillion ($103.10 million), 17 per cent lower than yesterday. On HNX liquidity was VND804 billion ($36.04 million), down 11 per cent.
The VN-Index fell early on and bottomed out at 644.08 points before recovering to close the morning session at 651.38 points. In the afternoon it fluctuated around 650 points before closing at 649.46 points.
Banking shares failed to carry the market as they did yesterday. On HSX none increased, with CTG down 1.2 per cent, VCB 1 per cent, STB 0.9 per cent, MBB 0.7 per cent and BID 0.6 per cent. EIB was the only share to close at its opening price. On HNX, SHB increased 1.61 per cent while ACB and NVB closed at their opening price.
Among oil and gas shares, GAS finished 1.53 per cent lower and PGD closed at its opening price while ASP and CNG increased 2.38 per cent and 0.25 per cent, respectively, on HSX. On HNX, PVG and PGS were down 1.3 per cent and 1.18 per cent, respectively.
VNM, another large cap on HSX, fell 0.7 per cent.
VIC, MWG, BVH, SSI and DPM closed at their opening price.
Foreign investors net sold in both markets, by VND24 billion ($1.07 million) on HSX and VND25 billion ($1.12 million) on HNX.
