Tough going for main indexes on July 8.
All main indexes closed lower on July 8. On HSX the VN-Index fell 2.44 points (0.37 per cent) and the VN30-Index 0.96 points (0.15 per cent) while on HNX the HNX-Index was down 0.59 points (0.66 per cent) and the HNX30-Index 1.13 points (0.7 per cent).
HSX saw 96 shares increasing and 146 decreasing, while HNX saw 141 increasing and 162 decreasing.
Liquidity on HSX was VND2.8 trillion ($125.58 million), 3 per cent higher than yesterday, and on HNX was VND770 billion ($34.53 million), 25 per cent lower.
The VN-Index reached its peak for the day at the beginning of the morning session, at 664.92 points, before closing at 657.37 points. In the afternoon it fluctuated around 657 points before edging higher to close at 658.68 points.
Most caps on HSX fell or closed at their opening price. Those closing unchanged included VNM, VCB, VIC, MBB, MSN and STB.
Increasing large caps included BVH, by 3.2 per cent, GAS 1.5 per cent, CTG 0.6 per cent and BID 0.2 per cent.
On HNX, ACB closed at its opening price while PVI, VCG and PHP increased 2.8 per cent, 2.2 per cent and 0.9 per cent, respectively. Large caps to fall included NTP, by 4.2 per cent, DBC 3.2 per cent, SHB 1.6 per cent, VCS 0.9 per cent and PVS 0.5 per cent.
Foreign investors net bought on HSX by VND4 billion ($179,400) and net sold on HNX by VND529 million ($23,725).
