Promising opening then settles before VN-Index and VN30-Index close up a touch.
Both the VN-Index and the VN30-Index ended higher at the close of the morning session on December 15. The VN-Index rose four points to 568 in the first 20 minutes before coming down to 565.99 at the end of the session, up 3.77 points, or 0.67 per cent. The VN30-Index also had a promising first 20 minutes, peaking at 584.26 points before closing at 581.31, 1.89 points, or 0.33 per cent, higher.
Major shares leading the market upwards were PVD, increasing 2.89 per cent, VNM 1.61 per cent, VCB 1.2 per cent, and SSI 0.44 per cent.
Among banking shares, only VCB and CTG increased in the session, by 1.2 per cent and 0.56 per cent, respectively, while others closed at their opening price or fell slightly, with MBB losing 0.7 per cent, STB 0.85 per cent, and EIB 0.87 per cent. SHB, meanwhile, fell 1.59 per cent.
The session saw better trade in oil and gas shares, with PGD rising 5.33 per cent, PVD 2.89 per cent, PVS 2.35 per cent, GAS 2.14 per cent, PVB 1.38 per cent, and PVC 1.2 per cent.
DLG saw unusual transactions, with some 22 million shares changing hands via matching order, or 13 per cent of its outstanding stocks.
The HNX saw solid increases in the first half an hour then returned to its opening level before closing just 0.01 per cent higher.
