Thai bank holds opening ceremonies on March 5 and 6.
Thailand’s Kasikornbank (KBank) has opened two representative offices, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to support the trade and investment expansion of Thai companies in the country.
According to KBank President Predee Dawchai, Vietnam is one of the most important investment destinations for Thai and foreign investors, given the country’s workforce are diligent and patient and have a positive attitude towards self-development.
He added that the advantage of KBank is its experience in providing services to Thai SMEs. KBank therefore understands Thai businesses and is ready to support those who wish to expand in Vietnam.
In the future, when approved by the State Bank, the bank will open more representative offices in Vietnam and many branches throughout the country to strengthen business support, including support for SMEs.
“Kasikorn is one of the leading banks in the region,” said Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Hong. “I would like Kasikorn to partner with other financial institutions in the region as well as in Vietnam to promote the ASEAN Economic Community.”
Since 2011 KBank has built a service network in Vietnam through cooperative arrangements with VietinBank and Agribank.
