Announcement made at AGM on May 4.
The An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) has announced the resignation of General Director Mr. Pham Duy Hieu for personal reasons, with Mr. Cu Anh Tuan, Deputy Director, to be appointed as its new General Director pending State Bank of Vietnam approval. The resignation of Mr. Hieu, announced at the annual general meeting on April 4, was quite unexpected, especially given the bank's business has been growing healthily.
Mr. Hieu was the youngest leader in the banking sector when he took up the post of General Director of VietABank at the age of 34 before assuming the General Director position at ABBank. Born in 1978 in Hai Phong, he earned a Master's of Finance, Monetary Circulation and Credit from the National Economics University and a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Languages and International Studies.
Mr. Tuan, meanwhile, was appointed Deputy Director of ABBank in April 2014. He earned a Master's of Finance and Accounting from the Swinburne University of Technology in Australia before holding senior leadership positions at the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC), and Fujitsu Vietnam.
ABBank is one of the most prestigious in Vietnam's banking and finance sector, with an extensive network of 118 transaction offices in 28 cities and provinces nationwide.
