Most indexes on Vietnam's stock market close in positive territory.

The main indexes on Vietnam’s stock market on May 15 gained ground.

On the HSX, the VN-Index closed at 1,073.50 points, up 6.52 points (0.61 per cent), and the VN30-Index closed at 1,055.49 points, up 4.04 points (0.38 per cent).

On the HNX, the HNX-Index finished at 123.65 points, up 0.38 points (0.30 per cent); the HNX30-Index finished at 226.28 points, up 0.92 points (0.41 per cent); and the UPCoM-Index finished at 55.99 points, up 0.21 points (0.37 per cent).

Liquidity on the HSX was VND3.6 trillion ($158.1 million) and VND605.3 billion ($26.6 million) on the HNX.

Most large food and beverages shares gained ground with BBC, VCF, BHN, TLG, SAB, and DQG increasing by 6.5, 6.5, 2, 1.8, 1.6 and 0.3 per cent, respectively. VNM lost 1.1 per cent, TAC 0.4 per cent and KDC 0.1 per cent.

In banking, BVH gained 6.4 per cent, SSI gained 1.4 per cent, CTG gained 1.2 per cent, TPB gained 1 per cent, BID gained 0.9 per cent, VCB gained 0.7 per cent, VPB gained 0.6 per cent, VCI gained 0.5 per cent, as MSN lost 1.8 per cent and EIB lost 0.7 per cent. MBB and STB closed at their opening prices.

In energy, the winners were PLX with 7 per cent, PVT with 2.3 per cent, PVD with 1.9 per cent, and GAS and NT2 with 0.5 per cent. PPC lost 0.5 per cent and PGD closed at its opening price.

The top five shares bought by foreign investors were POM, GAS, DXG, SBT and BMP.

VNM was the largest net share sold on the HSX, followed by HPG, MSN, NVL and SSI.

VGC was the largest net share sold on the HNX, followed by CEO, HHG, HUT and API.

On the UPCoM, foreign investors bought 25,804 shares worth VND6.47 billion ($624,174).

They net bought on the HSX by VND133.93 billion ($5.9 million) and net sold on the HNX by VND9.13 billion ($400,934).
