All other markets finish ahead on a positive day's trade on March 14.
Only the HNX-Index finished in negative territory on March 14, by just 0.06 points (0.08 per cent), while the HNX30-Index increased 0.19 points (0.14 per cent).
The HNX saw some of its large caps finish down. The two largest banking caps - ACB and SHB - both finished 1.5 per cent lower, with PHP down 1.3 per cent and VSC 0.7 per cent. Large caps heading upwards, meanwhile, included VNR, by 2.2 per cent, PVS 1.2 per cent, and NTP 0.3 per cent. SQC, PVI, and VCG closed at their opening price.
On HSX, the VN-Index increased 0.72 points (0.12 per cent) and the VN30-Index 3.20 points (0.55 per cent). The VN-Index reached a bottom of 584.27 points in the middle of the morning session but closed at 586.15 points, with assistance coming from the VN30-Index, which despite closing at its opening price was able to offset losses on VNMid and VNSml.
In afternoon trade the VN30-Index increased 3.20 points (0.55 per cent) to close at 587.09 points, with 15 shares increasing and ten decreasing. The VNMid finished down 1.05 points (0.14 per cent) while the VNSml was up 4.75 (0.66 per cent).
The VN30-Index saw significant increases from IJC, of 6.85 per cent, SBT 6.03 per cent, QCG 6 per cent, HPG 4.17 per cent, MSN 2.04 per cent, and DPM 1.38 per cent. Its largest caps, however, closed 0.74 per cent lower overall.
Foreign investors net bought today, to the tune of VND31.8 billion ($1.42 million) on HSX and VND8.11 billion ($363,733) on HNX.
