Mr. Vu Minh Truong takes on new role at Tien Phong Bank.
Tien Phong Bank (TPBank) has appointed Mr. Vu Minh Truong, former Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Prosperity Bank (VPBank) as its Deputy General Director of Corporate Banking.
Born in 1970, Mr. Truong graduated in Business Administration at the University of West Berlin and has over 17 years experience in trading foreign exchange and in money and financial markets, according to VPBank’s website.
Prior to joining TPBank he held various superior positions at HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, ANZ Bank, and VPBank, among others. In 2011 he was appointed Deputy General Director of Corporate Banking, Capital Investment and Financial Markets at VPBank.
TPBank targets being among the major industry players in 2015 with many ambitious targets set, such as increasing its total assets to VND70 trillion ($3.22 billion), a 40 per cent increase over 2014, with pre-tax profit to stand at VND620 billion ($28.68 million), or 115 per cent higher than in 2014.
Mr. Nguyen Hung, General Director of TPBank, previously told VET that enterprises are to be the bank’s priority, including small and medium-sized enterprises and enterprises in fields on the government’s prioritized list for development, such as agriculture, high-technology, and support industries.
With the addition of Mr. Truong to its management team TPBank has expressed its ambition to be a leader in Vietnam’s banking sector.
