VietABank has invested $2 million in upgrading its online transaction platform.

Modern IT systems have been integrated into a new generation data center and e-banking system to meet customer demand.

According to Mr. Thai Nguyen Hoang Nha, VietABank’s Director of Technology, before the upgrade to the data center only about 10 per cent of the bank’s applications were running on this environment, while 95 per cent will do so after implementation.

To successfully implement the project VietABank has used the most advanced technology from leading technology solutions providers such as VMware, EMC, Cisco, and HP. The new technology solutions help the bank to significantly reduce investment costs and operating costs, helping to handle a huge number of transactions rapidly and stably. A high state of readiness is also guaranteed should incidents occur.

“Using this technology helps the IT department improve the bank’s ability to manage and operate the system,” Mr. Nha said. “Customers will quickly see the difference in our new generation of e-banking, with smart, flexible, fast and highly interactive utilities. Information processing is at a fast speed and it is user-friendly and meets security levels.”

In the future VietABank will continue to invest in technology to enhance interoperability between banks and customers. The new technology system has also helped it to be in the Top 10 most popular e-banking systems, as voted on by customers in the My eBank program organized by e-newspaper Vnexpress and sponsored by the State Bank of Vietnam.
