Bank systems updated and decision of November 12 reversed.
The Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has announced that ATM services to foreign customers will re-open from November 19.
On November 12 the bank announced it had terminated ATM and money transfer services for foreigners, regardless of whether they are resident in Vietnam or not, as ATM transactions do not allow the bank to check information on the account owner. It therefore terminated the service to follow regulations from the State Bank of Vietnam.
In its latest announcement the bank said its systems have been updated and it is ready to restore such services to foreign customers.
