Fall in VNM hits Index and VN30 during morning trade on the first day of the month.
In morning trade on December 1 the VN-Index quickly rose to 577.58 points from its 573.2 point opening but then fell back to 573.39, for an increase of just 0.19 points, or 0.03 per cent.
The VN30-Index saw 13 shares increasing, 5 decreasing, and 12 closing at their opening price. VNM fell during the session, bringing the VN30-Index down with it after also increasing early on, by about 4 points, before closing at 581.76 points, for a loss of 0.03 per cent.
The VN-Index also suffered from VNM losing VND3,000 ($0.13), or 2.42 per cent, to close at VND121,000 ($5.38). Trading was active, with some 800,000 shares changing hands, or equal to its total trading volume yesterday.
Shares increasing on the VN30-Index included CII, by 2.33 per cent, ITA 1.64 per cent, and KDC 1.15 per cent.
Banking shares performed better in the session after falling for a few days, with BID closing 1.47 per cent higher, MBB 1.42 per cent, and EIB 0.95 per cent. No large cap banking shares fell during the session.
FLC again saw the highest liquidity, with total trade of some 7 million shares, and closed at its opening price.
Other real estate shares had good mornings, with VIC increasing 0.23 per cent, ITA 1.64 per cent, and NLG 1.34 per cent.
The HNX-index also rose in the first half of the session before falling to 80.48 points by the close, down 0.13 points, or 0.16 per cent.
