Difficult day for large caps on May 25.
The VN-Index increased 0.27 points (0.04 per cent) and the VN30-Index fell 1.88 points (0.31 per cent) on May 25 on HSX. On HNX the HNX-Index was unchanged and the HNX30-Index closed down 0.23 points (0.15 per cent).
The UpCoM Index rose 0.22 points (0.34 per cent).
The HSX today saw 109 shares increase and 105 decrease, while HNX saw 155 increase and 111 decrease.
The VN-Index fluctuated around 614 points and peaked at 616.08 at the beginning of the afternoon session before losing momentum and closing at 611.89 points.
The VNMid-Index increased 0.95 points (0.12 per cent) and the VNSml-Index 1.19 points (0.16 per cent).
Foreign investors’ net buying via order matching in the VN30 basket was down by two- thirds compared to the previous day, at just VND56 billion ($2.5 million), the lowest since the beginning of February.
Among the ten largest caps only GAS and VCB increased, by 1.8 per cent and 0.2 per cent, respectively, MBB fell 1.9 per cent, MSN 1.4 per cent, BVH 0.8 per cent and VNM 0.7 per cent, and VIC, CTG, BID, HPG and FPT closed at their opening price.
On HNX, large caps NTP, PHP and ACB closed down, by 1.4 per cent, 1 per cent and 0.5 per cent, respectively.
Foreign investors net bought on both markets, by VND26 billion ($1.16 million) on HSX and VND5 billion ($223,900) on HNX.
