Almost half of all morning trade on VN30 shares.
The VN30-Index took the market upwards in the morning session of December 11. At the end of trade some 20 million shares had changed hands; almost half of the trade in HSX, and closed 6.10 points, or 1.07 per cent, up, at 578.60 points.
The VN-Index increased 4.68 points, or 0.83 per cent, to close at 565.72 points. In the VN30 25 shares increased while only two decreased, while the HSX saw 136 increase and 66 decrease.
Banking shares in the VN30 basket saw solid rises, such as STB, up 5.31 per cent, VCB 1.7 per cent, EIB 1.96 per cent, BVH 2.97 per cent, SSI 0.44 per cent, and CTG 0.55 per cent.
Other banking shares not in the VN30 also all finished in positive territory, with BID increasing 1.7 per cent, ACB 0.52 per cent, and SHB 1.59 per cent.
Oil shares showed some signs of recovery, with PVD rising 0.35 per cent and PVS 0.56 per cent.
VNM also increased, by one tick size, to VND124,000 ($5.51), while MSN lost 1.4 per cent to close at VND70,500 ($3.14).
HAG this morning saw the highest trade volume in the VN30 basket, with 1.8 million shares changing hands and closed 0.87 per cent higher.
FLC had the highest liquidity overall, with trade of 4.8 million shares, and closed 2.63 per cent higher.
The HNX-Index increased slightly, by 0.17 points, or 0.21 per cent, after reaching a low of 78.62 points mid-session.
