Losses all round on June 6 after tough day's trade.
All main indexes closed down on June 6, with the VN-Index falling 1.83 points (0.29 per cent) and the VN30-Index 2.17 points (0.35 points) on HSX while the HNX-Index was 0.01 points (0.01 per cent) lower and the HNX30-Index 0.69 points (0.45 per cent) on HNX.
The Up-CoM Index also fell, by 0.59 points (1.02 per cent).
HSX saw 150 shares increase and 75 decrease, while HNX saw 145 increase and 155 decrease.
The VN-Index reached a peak late in the morning session of 624.36 points before slipping to 620.07 at the close. The afternoon session continued in the same vein early on, with the index falling to 617.34 points before recovering to 621.66 points then easing to 620.05 points at the close.
STB, after a stable morning, continued steadily upwards early in the afternoon to hit its ceiling. Some 1.75 million STB shares changed hands in the afternoon, worth VND20.4 billion ($911,880), for total trade over the course of the day of some VND24 billion ($1.07 million). Its impressive day’s trade recovered all of its losses over the last eleven trading days.
VCB was the only large cap to increase, by 1.1 per cent.
VNM recorded the highest fall, of 2.2 per cent, with CTG down 1.1 per cent, VIC 0.9 per cent, MSN 0.7 per cent and BID 0.5 per cent.
GAS closed at its opening price.
On HNX, ACB and PLC rose 1.1 per cent and 0.6 per cent, respectively.
Among large caps, VCS fell 2.1 per cent, SHB 1.6 per cent, PHP 1.5 per cent, and PVS 0.5 per cent.
Foreign investors net sold on both markets, on HSX by VND218 billion ($9.74 million) and on HNX by VND4 billion ($178,800).
