Vietjet Air flight carries passenger to three-year-old airport.
Da Nang International Airport welcomed its 5 millionth passenger on December 30, with leaders from the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and the Da Nang City People’s Committee present to celebrate the arrival.
The lucky passenger on Vietjet Air’s Flight VJ511 from Hanoi was Mr. Tran Minh Thinh from the capital. The next two passengers, Mr. Yasuda Takenori from Japan and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh from Hanoi, also received a warm welcome.
Having reached the impressive total of five million passengers in three years, Da Nang International Airport is planning to expand its infrastructure to boost capacity to 10 million passengers per year.
Mr. Desmond Lin, Business Development Director of Vietjet Air, congratulated the city on the vigorous development of Da Nang International Airport in terms of services and facilities, adding that the airline is wholeheartedly committed to adding more flights to Da Nang to meet growing travel demand while enhancing trade and tourism relations between the city and other provinces. “We aim to push far beyond the number of five million passengers in the coming years,” he said.
With a new and modern fleet, Vietjet Air has carried nearly 10 million passengers on 60,000 flights across a network of 28 domestic and international destinations in countries & territories such as Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. The airline is planning to further expand its flight network across the Asia Pacific region, offering more flying opportunities to travelers at the best fares possible.
