Bamboo Airways has officially launched regular flights connecting Cam Ranh with Seoul in South Korea.

The first flight departed Cam Ranh International Airport, near Nha Trang in south-central Khanh Hoa province, at 9.55pm on November 15 and arrived at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport at 4.35am (both local times).

The route will be serviced by modern and fuel-saving Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The Cam Ranh - Incheon flight follows on from the success of Bamboo Airways’ Da Nang - Incheon flights launched on October 17, along with charter flights between the two countries the carrier has been operating.

Mr. Dang Tat Thang, Executive Vice Chairman of Bamboo Airways, said the carrier will operate other regular routes connecting Vietnam and South Korea from the beginning of 2020.

This regular route connecting Nha Trang and Seoul plays an important role in realizing its plan to expand its international flight network, conquering South Korea and reaching other markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China), China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and the Czech Republic.

PAA, the General Agent of Bamboo Airways in South Korea, said it highly appreciates the quality of service Bamboo Airways provides on each flight, with an enthusiastic and professional cabin crew and delicious in-flight meals. “We are really pleased to partner with the first private five-star service-oriented airline in Vietnam and hope that our cooperation will continue to thrive,” a PAA representative said.

Bamboo Airways has operated charter flights to South Korea since April. Hanoi - Incheon, Hanoi - Jeju, and Da Nang - Jeju flights have received positive feedback from a large number of passengers, agents, and tour operators in Vietnam as well as in the world.

Vietnam and South Korea have been viewed as potential tourism markets of each other in recent years. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first ten months of 2019, the number of South Korean visitors to Vietnam reached over 3.5 million, an increase of 22.1 per cent year-on-year.

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, in the first nine months of 2019, the number of South Korean visitors to the province reached 148,000, increasing three-fold year-on-year. In the first quarter, South Korean visitors to Nha Trang increased ten-fold year-on-year, from more than 3,000 visitors to more than 30,000 visitors.
