If you're looking for an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nha Trang then you will do no better than Evason Ana Mandara.
Vacations should be about going home with a bag of memories and Evason Ana Mandara provided me with a suitcase full of them.
Before I actually stepped foot inside the resort an impeccably-attired driver met me outside of the baggage claim at Cam Ranh International Airport and ushered me to a sleek Fortuner adorned with an unobtrusive Evason Ana Mandara logo.
Evason Ana Mandara is the only beachfront resort in Nha Trang. Its 74 semi-detached garden villas, many with breathtaking views across the bay, offer classic Vietnamese touches.
I chose a Deluxe Sea View Room with a private covered terrace. The accommodation was fine and has a great outdoor shower. The room’s style incorporates delightful Vietnamese touches. There is individually controlled air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, a writing desk, an IDD telephone, an in-room safe, a hairdryer, satellite TV with international channels, a DVD player, free internet access, 24-hour in-room dining, a mini-bar and coffee or tea making facilities, and a daily newspaper on request.
Though the resort was opened 19 years ago it boasts beautifully maintained facilities and wonderful surrounding landscapes.
The resort’s breakfast buffet at Pavilion Restaurant is delicious, with an amazing choice of food and drinks, both local and international, and different specialities are prepared each morning. It was wonderful to go to breakfast, as the staff know your name and ask how they can help you. They are all so friendly and professional and willing to help.
The resort has unveiled daily drink and dining promotions at the newly renovated Ana Beach House Bar & Restaurant. The restaurant opens from 8am to 10.30pm daily and is also open to the public and is a perfect spot for leisurely pursuits.
The emphasis at Ana Beach House Bar & Restaurant is on enjoying the surroundings in comfort and relaxing with friends and family. Sharing platters abound, including the signature mixed platter with beetroot, hummus, baba ganoush, grilled asparagus, roasted artichokes, Parma ham, and homemade flatbread. While I have a drink and sample some of the great flavors of the Mediterranean, I can relax by the pool or have an upbeat precursor to a night out in Nha Trang.
I heard before I went to the resort that its spa service is excellent, so I had to try it. The resort’s Six Senses Spa presents a Vietnamese experience of specialty treatments together with an extensive menu of traditional therapies that provide a truly relaxing and revitalizing experience to rejuvenate the senses.
I chose the holistic massage with a tailor-made therapeutic full body and scalp therapy including face reflexology. By using long, slow stroking movements, the resort’s therapists put you into a deep state of relaxation. It’s no surprise that this is the most popular relaxation treatment at the resort.
At Evason Ana Mandara you can discover many dining choices. The resort’s chefs produce a selection of dishes that allow East to meet West while continuing to provide endless culinary experiences from traditional Vietnam. The resort features an interesting blend of classic regional Vietnamese cooking with a contemporary fusion influence. It sources only the freshest ingredients from local markets and rural Vietnamese and international producers to create a culinary journey of the highest standard.
I have traveled to many places over the years but still love to re-visit this resort. It offers me everything I look for in a holiday and I will definitely be booking another stay there.
