Opening of three flights a week from Guangzhou confirms that beach city is gaining in popularity among Chinese tourists.
From June 20 China Southern Airlines will officially conduct direct return flights from Guangzhou in China to Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa province, which services Nha Trang, with three flights a week on Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Last month over 80 representatives from Chinese tourism enterprises visited Khanh Hoa to study and evaluate tourism in Nha Trang, in particular the Hon Tam Island Resort in the middle of Nha Trang Bay.
The flights will contribute to attracting more Chinese tourists to Nha Trang and proves that the beach city is becoming popular among Chinese tourists.
According to figures from the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first five months of the year the province welcomed over 354,000 international passengers, similar to the number in the same period last year. From January to April, 29,000 Chinese tourists visited Khanh Hoa, 69 per cent higher year-on-year.
