Competition to be celebrated over two nights on April 28 and April 29 involving five teams.
South Africa’s team lit up the sky with a rainbow and musical performance at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Da Nang International Fireworks Competition on April 28.
The 20-minute performance, entitled “Blue Sky of Africa”, was seen by over 30,000 people at the fireworks party on the Han River.
The team also put on a spectacular display at the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The US team, called Pyrotecnico, who won second place at the 2010 competition in Da Nang, continued the night with romantic fireworks reminiscent of love ballads and lasting 22 minutes
A team from the host city rounded out the first night with its “Symphony of Colors” performance, accompanied by Vietnamese folk songs. The performance highlighted Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes and spirited people. As well as the fireworks, the performance included a simulation of Vietnam’s history, the people’s love of their country, and an introduction to Da Nang.
Symphony of Colors, the name of the competition, has attracted five teams from five continents - South Africa, the US, Australia, Poland, and Vietnam, who will all compete over two nights.
The final night will see performances from the Australian and Polish teams.
