Promotional program introduced to encourage visitors to city from September to March.
The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced a promotional program on September 10 encouraging the development of the city tourism industry during the approaching low season.
The program therefore will run from September 3 to March 31 next year to boost domestic tourism and promote international visits and MICE tourism.
Some 96 hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, and tourism service points have joined the program, offering discounts ranging from 10 to 60 per cent.
Many tourist attractions, such as the Danang Museum of Cham Sculpture and Ngu Hanh Son, will cut ticket prices by half on certain days of the week. At Son Tra Peninsula and My Khe Beach, sports and entertainment services such as coral diving, parachuting, and jet skis will be 10-50 per cent cheaper.
“The program requires tourism enterprises ensure the quality of their products and services despite cutting their prices,” Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, said. “The program is expected to create a strong and sustainable image of the city to attract tourists.”
The Danang Tourism Promotional Program 2014 had 90 tourism enterprises participating and attracted large amounts of visitors to the city during the low season. According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of visitors staying in hotels participating in the program saw a significant increase of 15-20 per cent, especially during the low season from September. The total number of visitors on tours within the program reached more than 8,000 and the number of visitors to destinations within the program was nearly 55,000, an increase of nearly 15 per cent over the same period of 2013.
