Luxury service links Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam Railways (VNR) has launched the first five-star express train in Vietnam, on the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route.
After four months of upgrading services and improving the professional skills of staff, the luxurious train boasts modern facilities, including a clean and attractive interior, an efficient ticketing counter, news bulletins, a cafeteria, TVs, free wi-fi, and souvenir and newspaper kiosks. The five-star train received total investment of VND83 billion ($3.8 million).
Furniture on the train is of high quality. Floorboards are made from aluminum to avoid noise and cut weight. Toilets have been renovated to meet environmental standards. Sleeper carriages have semi-automatic glass doors between each, and corridors are lit by yellow lights to create a luxury atmosphere.
VNR Chairman Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh told a press conference in Hanoi that the corporation is set to build two more five-star trains by the end of this year, with standards and technology that meet international levels.
