Heartfelt hospitality

A newly opened resort in Nha Trang, Amiana, will take the very best care of guests with easygoing but luxurious accommodation, restaurants and spas.

Just a few minutes from the bright lights of Nha Trang but a world away in terms of tranquillity, Amiana “on the bay” is nestled on a serene stretch of white sand beach fringed on each end by rocky outcrops. Looking out over beautiful Nha Trang Bay from the terrace of their comfortable room, guests will be able to appreciate the stars and pinpoint the lights of fishing boats on the horizon while enjoying a gentle tropical breeze

The resort, opened in April, has just 113 rooms, of which 22 are ocean-front villas, 16 are spacious two-bedroom apartments and 72 are luxurious bungalow-style deluxe rooms. The resort boasts three ocean-front pool villas with private pool, each of which is 340 sq m with three bedrooms. All rooms are designed in line with a philosophy of natural living, with locally sourced materials, culturally sensitive interior designs and meticulous attention to detail. Of course there are also all the luxuries and amenities you would expect, from oversized TV to exclusively-designed plush Irish bedroom and bathroom linen. “What we are most proud of are the thoughtful extra touches you don’t expect ... little surprises that make the difference between a comfortable stay and a lifelong memory to treasure,” said Mr Duncan MacLean, General Manager of Amiana.

The resort’s low density construction allows for privacy, lots of open space and maximum benefit from natural coastal breezes. “Amiana truly is a labour of love,” Mr MacLean went on. “The view across Turtle Bay back towards Nha Trang is spectacular, with calm blue waters and sampans chugging along, and by night the city lights sparkle on the horizon. It’s a breathtaking and captivating location.”

Local geomancers were involved in the layout and development of the resort from the very outset to ensure that the spiritual as well as the physical needs of guests were considered. Feng Shui consultants considered the influence of the wind and water and the use of natural materials, many of which were sourced from the local area. Local woods such as mountain ash and coconut were used, as well as elements fashioned from bamboo, local stone and palm leaves.

The resort’s elegant restaurant, Bacaro, mixes delightful social traditions with a wide selection of Asian and international dishes served in cicchettie style. Whether for breakfast or a sumptuous dinner, guests can share a range of these small delights. For the traditionalist or the Nha Trang seafood aficionado, it also offers a fine selection of a-la-carte specialties, centred around aged Australian Black Angus Beef and signature seafood BBQ.

Nha Trang is famed for its hot mud baths and health treatments. And it’s about to get a lot more famous as Amiana has introduced a wide range of delicate, soothing and relaxing treatments, drawing from the traditions of Asia and the science of Europe to make its spa unsurpassed in elegance and sophistication.

The Amiana Conference Center boasts the most spectacular views and location of any conference or incentive venue in Vietnam. The sublime setting lends itself perfectly to either indoor/outdoor receptions, dinners, theme evenings or cocktail parties, while the indoor meeting and function rooms are the perfect venue for meetings, conferences or special functions.
According to Mr MacLean, Amiana “on the bay” reflects his philosophy of genuine, heartfelt hospitality. “On our journey towards Barefoot Luxury, the difference is that at Amiana we take the time to feel the breeze and listen to the ocean - and that is what I call true luxury,” he said.
