The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula resort in the central city of Da Nang has been selected among the “Top 100 Hotels in the World” at the 22nd annual World’s Best Awards held by US tourism magazine Travel + Leisure.

The resort is a one-of-a-kind property that redefines luxury in Vietnam and Asia, where demand for luxury accommodation has never been greater.

Opened in June 2012, the 37-ha InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is nestled in the myth-filled hills of the famous Son Tra Peninsula nature reserve and is a work of art as much as a resort. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and with panoramic views of the East Sea, this truly iconic 200-bedroom property was designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley from Bensley Design Studios Bangkok.

As the flagship IHG resort in Vietnam, it was also the first to introduce Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire in La Maison 1888, the leading gastronomic destination in Vietnam and listed in the Top 10 in the Architectural Digest for the most beautifully-designed new restaurants. Billed as the place where “Myth Meets Luxury”, the resort has worked with Paul Harnn, founder of the award-winning HARNN Heritage Spa, Bastien Gonzalez, the world’s most sought-after pedicurist, and Anh Tuyet, a chef known for creating authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Highly praised for its stunning architecture, unique location, and impeccable service, the resort was also ranked fifth in the Top 10 Hotels in the Southeast Asia category. “We are delighted to be recognized as one of the top resorts in the world by our discerning guests and readers of the prestigious luxury travel publication,” said the resort’s General Manager, Mr. Juan Losada. “We look forward to delivering an even greater level of luxury to our guests.”

The 2017 World’s Best Awards are one of the most significant accolades in the travel industry and this year proved to be very competitive. Over 300,000 readers participated in a survey to identify the best of the best in travel.

The resort was also featured this week in the Top 100 best hotels in the world, as selected by the editor of the World Travel Magazine, a Singapore-based luxury travel publication.

Over the years, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has firmly established itself as a familiar name on lists from respected publications such as Conde Nast Traveler, CNN, and the Robb Report.
