Two airports named among best in region by airport review website, while Tan Son Nhat keeps its place among the worst.
Two Vietnamese airports have been named among the Top 30 Best Airports in Asia in a survey by The Guide to Sleeping in Airports, an airport review website.
Danang International Airport and Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport were ranked 23rd and 28th, respectively, in the Best Airport in Asia in 2015 survey.
The annual survey asks travelers to rate their airport experiences based on factors such as services and facilities, terminal cleanliness, customer service, and comfort. Airport ratings, comments, and reviews submitted throughout the year make up its annual Best & Worst Airports list.
This is the second year in a row Danang Airport has appeared on the Best Airports in Asia list. It was also voted among the Top 3 airports in the world in a survey by Hong Kong’s Dragonair.
Noi Bai’s appearance on the list is quite a surprise. Last year The Guide to Sleeping in Airports listed the airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City as among the worst in Asia.
According to The Guide to Sleeping in Airports, the new T2 terminal opened in January and is spacious, modern, airy, and clean.
Tan Son Nhat, meanwhile, remained in the Top 10 Worst Airports in Asia list this year, ranking 4th, up from last year’s 8th. According to The Guide to Sleeping in Airports, its status has deteriorated thanks to allegations of corruption. Numerous survey respondents reported that customs officers ask for bribes in order to help them move through the process faster, and those that declined to pay quickly faced problems with their paperwork. Other complaints include poor wi-fi, dirty bathrooms, and a limited selection of eateries.
