Festival to be held from December 29 to January 2 with a host of different events.
The Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee held a press conference recently to introduce the Da Lat Flower Festival 2015.
The festival, with the theme “Da Lat - A Multitude of Flower Colors”, will be held from December 29 to January 2 and feature an array of tourism and cultural activities, including flower exhibitions in the city’s downtown area, tours to Ha Dong, Thai Phien, and Van Thanh flower villages, a flower carnival, a vegetable-flower fair, and a scientific conference on flowers.
The opening ceremony will be take place at 8pm on December 29 in Lam Vien Square, with artistic programs and the Da Lat Carnival.
Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee Phan Van Da told the press conference that the event is an occasion to honor the contribution of flower businesses and growers in the area. The industry has attracted more investors, expanded markets, created jobs and improved the incomes of local people, and met the increasing demand of tourists.
A gala night for local flower growers will be held for the first time in the festival’s history at Lam Vien Square on January 1, dedicated to individuals and agencies involved in developing the local flower industry.
Several events will take place around the city to keep the festive atmosphere alive, such as flower arrangement contests, fashion contests, a flower painting festival, a golf tournament, a singing contest, and a festival for local art troupes.
According to organizers, to ensure service quality for visitors to Da Lat during the festival, local tourism enterprises have invested in upgrading services and improving food safety and security.
