Vietjet Air was honored with the title “Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” on October 1 at the TTG Travel Awards 2105, as voted on by travelers, travel agencies, and tour operators in Asia.

The award highlights Vietjet’s achievements in providing the best services and the best network and schedules and for being the most agent-friendly airline in terms of reservations and confirmations as well as having the most professional sales and marketing team that come up with innovative ideas, exciting incentive programs, and groundbreaking services.

It is the first airline from Vietnam to win this award and also one of 16 new winners in various categories taking home their first-ever signature Hermes trophy from the TTG Travel Awards, which have been dominated by long-term winners in previous years.

The annual TTG Travel Awards have been organized by TTG Asia since 1989. The winners are decided through votes from readers of TTG Travel Trade Publishing’s print and online TTG Asia titles such as TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTGassociations, TTG-BTmice China, and TTG Asia Luxury, from May to July every year. These publications’ readers are mainly travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers and travelers.

Representing Vietjet to receive the award at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre (Thailand), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President, said: “This award is not only tremendous recognition of Vietjet’s operations and services over past years but also puts Vietnam’s aviation industry on the regional and global transportation and travel map. Furthermore, it is also a great motivation for us and fills us with confidence as we continue to expand the airline’s flight network and offer our guests friendly and convenient services. This means we will also be in a position to contribute positively to the development of the tourism industry and trade both regionally and globally in the coming years.”

A day after receiving the award, Vietjet continued to expand by opening a new route from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Pleiku in the central highlands province of Gia Lai. Flights from Hanoi depart at 2.55pm and arrive at Pleiku at 4.30pm. Return flights depart at 5.10pm and arrive at 6.45pm. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City depart at 4.35pm and arrive at 5.35pm, with return flights departing at 6.10pm and arriving at 7.10pm. With convenient flying timetables and economical fares, the new routes are expected to offer passengers more travel options as well as boost the economic and cultural exchange between Gia Lai and other provinces.
