Vietnam Airlines officially launched its new Da Nang - Osaka route on October 28, directly connecting the two tourist cities in Vietnam and Japan.

The first flight departed Da Nang International Airport at 12.20am on October 28, landing at Osaka Airport at 7am (both local times), for a flight time of some 4 hours 30 minutes.

With seven flights a week, the new Da Nang - Osaka route uses Airbus A321 aircraft with four-star standard international services. Daily flights will depart Da Nang at 12.20am and from Osaka at 9.30am (both local times). To celebrate the new flights, from October 28 to January 31, Vietnam Airlines' Golden Lotus members will be awarded an additional 2,000 miles on Business Class and 1,000 to 1,500 bonus miles on economy class between Da Nang and Osaka.

Vietnam Airlines' new route will provide more options and convenience for passengers in the two countries in the context of growing bilateral relations between Vietnam and Japan. The number of Japanese tourists to Da Nang increased more than 18 times from 2011 to 2017.

With the newly-opened route, Vietnam Airlines increases the total number of routes between Vietnam and Japan to eleven, continuing to play the role of a major airline connecting the two countries.

A member of the Skyteam Alliance, Vietnam Airlines operates 90 routes to 20 domestic and 29 international destinations with an average of 400 flights per day. It owns a fleet of modern aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Airbus A350-900 XWBs, Airbus A330s, and Airbus A321s.

It recently received a “4-Star Global Airline” award from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for quality airline services, joining major world airlines such as Air France, KLM, and United Airlines.

On July 17 in London, Vietnam Airlines again received four-star international certification from Skytrax. This third time was no surprise and demonstrates its efforts to satisfy passengers.
