Global Finance names Citi Vietnam as Best Digital Bank for Consumer Banking and Best Digital Bank for Corporate/Institutional Banking.

Global Finance magazine has announced its 2016 best digital bank awards and Citi Vietnam was recognized as Best Digital Bank for Consumer Banking and Best Digital Bank for Corporate/Institutional Banking.

The awards were determined by the editors of the magazine in partnership with judges from technology company Infosys.

In the country awards for Consumer Banking, Citi was named best digital bank in Australia, India, the Philippines and Vietnam and at the regional level was named Best Consumer Bank site.

In the country awards for Corporate/Institutional Banking, Citi was named best digital bank in Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

In the regional sub categories Citi was named best digital bank for Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, Information Security, Treasury Services, Mobile Banking and Best Mobile Banking app. “These awards are a welcome recognition of our progress in digital banking and especially mobile banking services,” said Ms. Natasha Ansell, Managing Director and Citi Country Officer for Vietnam.

“In Vietnam we are seeing strong growth in client penetration and usage across our franchise. Technology and digitization are transforming the way in which we serve our customers," she went on further. "Our priority is to ensure we are offering the best customer experience to our retail and institutional clients and digital banking has become a clear differentiating factor, which will continue to gain prominence in the coming years.”

Citi attracts 20 million visits to its e-commerce websites each month, of which 12 million are for online payments. With all the digital capabilities Citi has available in Vietnam, one out of every five new credit card accounts comes from digital, 97 per cent of customers have opted for e-Statements, and more than half of Citi’s customers are using Digital Banking services actively.

In the corporate and institutional space, the global rise of emerging market corporates and the expansion of global multinationals have accelerated the development of sophisticated and innovative digital solutions. Citi’s digital banking platform CitiDirect BE is interoperable with clients’ systems and networks and is accessible in 95 countries, 25 languages and 140 currencies via desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

In 2015, CitiDirect BE processed 344.2 million transactions, valued at $48.6 trillion. In Asia, 100 per cent of Citi clients use CitiDirect BE, with usage and transactions over the mobile and tablet devices doubling in 2015.
