The International School@ParkCity Hanoi (ISPH) will open in August in the family-friendly ParkCity Hanoi community to offer both local and foreign students a British-style education.

ISPH is fully committed to meeting its vision of becoming Vietnam’s premier international school. Its mission is to provide a high-quality education, set high and achievable expectations, and create a safe school in which every student is happy and treated as an individual.

ISPH will be the first international school to open in Hanoi for three years and also the first new opening since the government eased strict regulations on admissions. Under new Decree No. 86, local children can now make up to 50 per cent of an international school’s student body, up from 10 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively, at the primary and secondary levels.

“ISPH is a place where internationally-minded and culturally-aware students are encouraged to pursue excellence and personal development, enabling them to take a leading role in tomorrow’s ever-changing global community,” said Mr. Andrew Dalton, ISPKL and ISPH Director of Education.

It is set to be an all-through school by 2024, with plans to open Years 1-8 this year, nursery and reception classes in 2020, and Years 9-13 in 2020-2024. Teaching will follow the UK National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). IGCSEs and A Levels will eventually be offered to secondary and college students. All lessons will be taught in English, with the exception of Vietnamese or foreign language classes. In addition to the academic program, ISPH also offers a daily program of extra-curricular activities.

The school is opening within the green and beautiful township of ParkCity Hanoi, which is a 77.4 ha residential community on the western fringes of Hanoi that has become popular for families. International-standard facilities include classrooms, science labs, creative arts workshops, drama, dance and music studios, a library, technology suites, a multi-purpose auditorium, and a canteen. To support its physical exercise (PE) curriculum and after-school sports clubs, the school will have a covered swimming pool, an Astroturf sports field, an Astroturf playground, tennis courts, and a gymnasium.

ISPH is the second international school operated by the ParkCity Group, which opened a sister school in Malaysia in 2011 - The International School@ParkCity Kuala Lumpur (ISPKL). ISPKL currently has more than 1,100 students representing over 50 different nationalities, and it was recently judged to be an “Outstanding School” through accreditation with the Education Development Trust, and was awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) at the Gold Level. This success will be emulated at ISPH.

The academic staff at ISPH are all highly-qualified and experienced professionals. The School Leadership Team, along with several teachers, are transferring to ISPH from its sister school in Kuala Lumpur

ISPH’s founding Principal Rik Millington, who previously worked at the ISPKL campus, has 20 years of experience in education and has worked at schools in the UAE, the UK, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

The school is currently enrolling students aged five to 13 years for its Year 1-8 classes.
