Becamex IDC Corp. and Soruco primary investors in industrial zone and urban area project in southern province.
The Becamex IDC Corp. has team up with Soruco to kick off construction of an industrial complex and urban area in Binh Phuoc province.
The project in the southern province aims to develop both industry and services. Construction is on a total area of over 4,700 ha, with the industrial zone and urban area to take about 2,500 ha and a resettlement area 2,200 ha. Upon completion it is expected to attract over 240,000 workers.
Total investment capital for the project is around $945.27 million, mostly from Becamex IDC Corp. and Soruco. The industrial zone will be for the production of appliances and electronics, together with companies in computer science, information, communications and telecommunications, food processing, and agro-forestry products.
There will also be healthcare centers, educational facilities, restaurants, shopping centers and a playground.
Addressing the breaking ground ceremony, President of Becamex IDC Corp. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung said that the project will contribute to the development and modernization of the local area.
Becamex IDC Corp, has 28 subsidiaries and joint ventures in securities, banking and finance, insurance, construction, trading, real estate, services, telecommunications and information technology, concrete, construction materials, mining, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and education. Its charter capital is approximately $244.58 million.
