Representatives from Bosch Vietnam and FPT Information System (FPT IS) signed an MoU on smart transportation development and vision to 2030 in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar on November 26 in Ho Chi Minh City.

FPT IS will act as an integrated system and provider of technology solutions, while Bosch Vietnam will provide hardware devices and the management platform for security monitoring systems at up to 200,000 points. The two will cooperate to build and implement smart solutions suitable for each key city and locality in order to resolve current issues and provide a safe traffic network and society.

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang are the three piloting cities in the ASEAN Smart Cities Network. Besides e-government and connecting buildings, smart transportation is a key factor in the smart city model. All roads in major cities will be improved with modern management and monitoring solutions in the near future.

Other cities are in the process of planning the implementation of smart traffic networks to reduce human resources in the management task. Special urban cities and Level-1 urban cities will be equipped with smart traffic solutions within the next five years.

“We are pleased to cooperate with FPT IS in providing smart traffic solutions for the three potential markets of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar,” said Ms. Becky Vo, Country Head at Bosch Building Technologies (Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar). “FPT IS is an experienced integrated system provider in Vietnam and we believe our technology will help upgrade management standards in regional transport and contribute strongly to the process of building smart urban cities. That will bring a safer and more secure life to the people.”

“This strategic cooperation is an opportunity for both two sides to learn and exchange experience and build long-term cooperation in the field of transportation,” said Mr. Duong Dung Trieu, Chairman of FPT IS’s Board of Members. “One of our missions is to bring a happy life to the community, and we will focus on researching and developing technology solutions to resolve issues in urbanization by approaching innovation and building smart urban cities.”

Road infrastructure in major cities will be upgraded by the installation of management and smart monitoring solutions, including video surveillance systems used for traffic management (cooling penalties, traffic measurement, and density to regulate traffic), and urban planning (improving routes and expanding and changing traffic deadlines.)
