CapitaLand Vietnam officially opened The Oxygen in Ho Chi Minh City on March 25.

Fully owned by CapitaLand Vietnam, The Oxygen is a three-storey community mall with over 8,000 sq m of retail space and within the high-end residential development The Vista. Located at An Phu ward in District 2, CapitaLand Vietnam has positioned The Oxygen as the “backyard of Thao Dien” - a new community mall concept with a lively atmosphere, green landscapes, and a relaxed and positive feel.

Mr. Chen Lian Pang, CEO of CapitaLand Vietnam, said that Vietnam has become one of CapitaLand’s key markets. “By taking advantage of the knowledge and experience accumulated from CapitaMall Asia and the CapitaLand Group in Singapore, The Oxygen will contribute more to the development of a consumer culture in District 2 and the surrounding areas,” he said.

The Oxygen is a place where families and friends will come to meet and hang out with neighbors while letting their kids play in a safe environment. It is a perfect place for unwinding, with a host of outdoor activities, and is where people can enjoy a coffee while giving their kids an opportunity to improve their talent and creativity. It will be a community where relationships are built by being together and by enjoying activities among neighbors, like garage sales, Sunday markets, birthday parties, and charity events.

On the third floor, Toong will open an artistic co-working space of more than 1,000 sq m, offering convenient access to modern amenities and high-quality value added services for more than 300 members in one of the most progressive and affluent communities in Vietnam.

CapitaLand first set foot in Vietnam with its serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited. It ventured into the residential sector in 2016, with high-end projects such as The Vista. “Apart from building residential projects, CapitaLand hopes to diversify into the commercial segment, with office buildings and integrated developments,” Mr. Pang said.
