Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air expand schedules to cater to larger number of passengers taking a summer break.
Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air have both announced plans to add additional flights to their summer schedules.
From May 23 to August 31 Vietnam Airlines will add 4,040 flights with a total of 620,000 seats on 20 domestic routes, primarily to tourism destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc Island, and Da Lat. It expects to carry 3.5 million passengers in total during the summer, or 21 per cent more than usual.
Vietjet Air, meanwhile, will increase its flight numbers by 1,500, or 270,000 seats, not only on domestic routes but also on international routes to Taipei, Singapore and Bangkok.
The budget carrier will offer fares from VND199,000 ($10) for shorter flights and from VND399,00 ($20) for flights longer than one hour to passengers who buy tickets before May 30.
