Connect the Dots, a careers event for young people held by the UK Alumni Association Vietnam (UKAV) and the British Council, will be held on August 15 from 1pm to 6pm at the Melia Hanoi.

The event will see the participation of more than 20 leading corporations in different fields, such as banking (HSBC, Techcombank, and Standard Chartered Bank), airlines (Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines), finance and management consulting (McKinsey & Company and PwC Vietnam), consumer goods (Unilever), human resources (Navigos Group, Contact Singapore, and Nipponlink), software (FPT Software), e-sports (Vietnam E-Sports), and insurance (AIG), as well as Vingroup and Muong Thanh, among others.

Young people attending the event will have the chance to learn about existing and upcoming career opportunities at these companies. Jobseekers are able to submit a resume, attend preliminary interviews with representatives of the companies, and receive career advice.

“Connect the Dots also has a special goal, of helping Vietnamese students returning from overseas to gain a more realistic view of Vietnam’s labor market,” said Mr. Nguyen Ho Quang Ha, CEO of UKAV Hanoi Branch. “Added to the specialized knowledge and skills students acquired during their time overseas, such knowledge makes it easier for them to leave an impression on employers.”

Last year Connect the Dots attracted nearly 1,200 participants, double that of 2013, proving the appeal of the event for Vietnamese people that have studied aboard as well as young people looking for career opportunities, according to Mr. Ha.

UKAV is the official association of UK alumni in Vietnam. It was officially registered by the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association and is sponsored by the British Council.
