Dell Vietnam appoints new CEO

Mr. Tran Vu took up the reins on June 15.

The US-based Dell Inc. has appointed Mr. Tran Vu as CEO of Dell Vietnam and head of its representative office in the country, replacing Mr. Tran Duc Trung.

Mr. Vu took over responsibility for all of Dell’s business channels in Vietnam, including retail and government sales, on June 15. He will also manage all of Dell Vietnam’s operational aspects.

He has 24 years experience in business and marketing in IT solutions and services in Asia and 19 years experience in the IT sector in the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions.

He has held important positions during his career, such as regional director and marketing and distribution manager, and worked for many years in negotiating with clients over IT solutions and services.

Dell Vietnam leads the market in Vietnam with a market share of nearly 20 per cent in laptops, followed by Taiwan’s Asus and HP from the US, according to 2014 research conducted by the International Data Corporation.
