Total revenue for VTC in 2014 reaches $149.5 million.
The Vietnam Multimedia Corporation (VTC) has reported revenue in 2014 of over $149.5 million. Accounting for 70 per cent of total revenue, digital services brought in $98 million to the corporation.
The biggest contributor to revenue in digital services was VTC Intecom, bringing in over $90 million for profit of over $3.7 million. VTC Mobile’s revenue, meanwhile, was around $9.3 million for a profit of $635,000.
VTC aims to develop mobile games globally in 2015. Intecom and VTC Mobile have already launched new games in Indonesia but the market was quite modest, a VTC representative said.
Growth in games in Vietnam in 2014 was at its lowest for the last ten years, said Mr. Duong The Long, Director of VTC Intecom. But the number of new games was at its largest, he added, because of the movement from PC games to mobile games, though these were mostly foreign games.
He also complained that the games business in Vietnam faces many difficulties. “Contraband games have spoilt the local market,” he said.
