Discussions to take place over introducing flights between the two capitals.
Direct flights connecting Hanoi and Jakarta will be introduced in the future, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Ibnu Hadi, agreed at their meeting in Hanoi on April 26.
The flights would bolster investment and tourism links between the two cities, so proposals will be made to relevant agencies to hold a meeting between the Indonesian Ambassador and leaders of Vietnam Airlines.
Mr. Chung said that infrastructure, culture, and tourism development are of most concern for the capital. Cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia in these areas has great potential and he expects the Ambassador would act as a bridge in attracting Indonesian enterprises to invest in the city, especially in tourism.
He added that similarities in culture between the two countries are favorable for successful cooperation. He also mentioned the Ciputra project in Hanoi, which was invested by Indonesian enterprises and is a beautiful urban area in Hanoi.
He committed to assisting its investors in resolving any difficulties to accelerate the pace of Ciputra’s next phase of development.
