Country's first outlet a collaborative effort between Microsoft and FPT Group.
The first Microsoft store in Vietnam officially opened on June 18 at 63 Ly Thuong Kiet Street in Hanoi.
Customers can admire and experience the latest Microsoft products and services at the store, including Lumia phones, tablets and laptops using the latest Windows OS as well as Office 365, OneDrive, and many others.
At the opening ceremony Mr. Vinod Muralidharan, Chief Representative of Microsoft Mobile Vietnam, said the country is a key market in the development plans for Microsoft’s mobile devices. It therefore invested significantly in transferring the Nokia brand to Microsoft, he added, and this was the first step in its grand plan.
Within a few weeks Microsoft will change all 1,000 Nokia stores in the country into Microsoft store. It has said that it will spend more than $10 million on converting the brand in Vietnam, after acquiring Nokia.
The opening was completed under a collaborative arrangement between Microsoft and the FPT Group. The FPT Distribution Company is now the leading distributor of Microsoft’s mobile devices in Vietnam.
