Problems in electrical system in need of check and repair.
Ford Vietnam has announced a recall of 1,189 Fiestas in Vietnam to check and repair errors in the electrical system.
Wires rubbing against the gearbox can lead to a short circuit over time and damage the vehicle’s electrical system, according to the carmaker. All motor cars recalled were produced between July 24, 2013 and August 30, 2014.
Besides Fiestas assembled in Vietnam, those assembled in other countries and then imported to Vietnam have also been recalled.
Ford Vietnam said the expected time to conduct checks and repairs is about one hour and the recall program will run until April 30, 2018.
The Ford Fiesta has among the most advanced technology and features in the small car segment. According to a report from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the number sold in the first seven months of this year stood at 438, much lower than the Ford Ecosport SUV, which recorded sales of 2,067.
