Project to manufacture telecommunications equipment and LED lights.
The Ha Nam Provincial People’s Committee issued an investment license to the South Korean-invested KMW Vina Co. and Telcon on February 4. Located at the Dong Van 1 Industrial Park, the $100 million factory covers over 30 ha and manufactures telecommunications, radio engineering and lighting equipment.
The project will manufacture telecommunications equipment such as filters, diffusion equipment, antennas, connector radios, Remote Radio Head (RRH), Radio Unit (RU Compact), and other products.
KMW Vina and Telcon will also produce LED lights, streetlights, interior LED lights, and integrated systems of LED lights with controllers such as SPES and SAGA.
The project has a duration of 50 years and construction is estimated to take 36 months. With total investment of $100 million it is the second largest licensed FDI project in Vietnam in the opening months of this year, following the Worldon Vietnam Co. Ltd project, which has total capital of $300 million and is located in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ha Nam People’s Committee, Mai Tien Dung, told Vietnam Television that “the products being made are in line with the direction the province wishes to take.” Along with creating the best possible conditions for the investors regarding the location, the province and the investors will complete documents on incentives for high quality technology products based on the policy of the government. “Ha Nam will help the investors to recruit employees by sending people to South Korea for training,” Mr. Dung added.
