$9 million project in Thanh Hoa province to use the latest in modern technology to produce agriculture products.
The Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Corporation (Lasuco) expects to open its high-tech agriculture center in northern Thanh Hoa province on January 30, Chairman Le Van Tam has said.
The project has investment of almost VND200 billion ($8.91 million) and an area of 100 ha, with greenhouses, irrigation systems, net houses, plant breeding areas, and laboratories.
This is the first high-tech agriculture plant in the province and has the involvement of leading domestic research institutes and foreign experts. Many high-quality products are to be produced, such as disease-free sugarcane, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, organic fruit and vegetables, and orchids.
The project also targets to record revenue of VND1.5 trillion ($66.87 million) by 2020 and between VND2.5 trillion ($111.45 million) and VND3 trillion ($133.74 million) by 2025.
Thanh Hoa province has four hundred-million dollar projects: the Ben En ecological park and resort in Nhu Thanh district with investment of $600 million, a project to preserve the historical site of Ham Rong with investment of $180 million, a marine eco-resort on Hai Hoa Beach with investment of $150 million, and an ecotourism area around Cam Luong Stream with $120 million in investment.
