Huawei appoints new President and CEO for Southeast Asia

Mr. David Sun takes on positions at ICT giant.

Huawei, who specialize in information and communication technology (ICT) solutions, today announced the appointment of Mr. David Sun as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Southeast Asia Region.

He will oversee the company's operations and be responsible for business development of the carrier, enterprise and consumer business groups across the region.

Mr. Sun has more than 17 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Since joining Huawei in 1998 he has held several management roles within the company, including chief representative of the Huawei Hangzhou representative office, chief representative of the Huawei Guangzhou representative office, sales director of the network product line in China, and vice president and head of the carrier business group of the Southeast Asia region. "I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such a diverse and dynamic team across the region," he said. "The world of technology is a fast-changing environment and we are well positioned to tap new opportunities during this time of transformation. We are committed to bringing the best solutions and services to customers and also be persistent in driving customers' success." Huawei has had a significant presence in the Southeast Asia region since 1997. The expertise Mr. Sun gained in a long and successful career at Huawei in a number of markets will help drive business development and strengthen the company's market position in the region.

Huawei has also appointed Mr. Zhou Zhen as General Director of Huawei Technologies in Vietnam, replacing Mr. Yuan Song.
