Unilever, Vinamilk and Masan in Top 3.
The Top 10 FMCG brand owners and the Top 10 brands in Health & Beauty, Homecare, and Food and Beverages, as bought by the most consumers in four urban cities (Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Can Tho) and rural Vietnam were revealed in Kantar Worldpanel’s fourth annual Brand Footprint report released on May 26.
Unilever, Vinamilk and Masan are the Top 3 brands in the four urban cities and rural areas, retaining their positions for four years running.
Unilever continued to lead as most chosen brand in rural areas while Vinamilk led in the four urban cities.
Masan held second place in rural areas and third place in the four urban cities. All three achieved high penetration in entering into almost 100 per cent of Vietnamese households.
Two of the Top 3 brands are local players, with Vinamilk and Masan dominating the Food and Beverage sector while Unilever - the giant global FMCG manufacturer - has the top brands in both Health & Beauty and Home Care.
Nestle took fourth position in urban rankings - its first appearance in the Top 10. Its products were chosen more than 25 million times by 90 per cent of urban households and nearly 70 million times by 60 per cent of rural households last year.
Climbing five places and growing by 27 per cent in Consumer Reach Points (CRPs), Uniben Foods is a newcomer to the Top 10 rural ranking. Its products were purchased nearly 84 million times in rural areas, mainly thanks to the outstanding performance of its 3Mien product.
