Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh officially appointed to position he's held temporarily since last July.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has issued Decision No. 89/QD-TTg appointing Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, General Director of PetroVietnam, as its new Chairman.
Mr. Khanh was born in 1960 in northern Ha Tinh province. Before being appointed as General Director of PetroVietnam in November 2014 he held positions such as Deputy General Director of the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), Director General of the Mekong Oil and Gas Joint Venture, General Director of the PetroVietnam Oil Processing and Distribution Company (PDC), and Deputy General Director of PetroVietnam.
In July last year, after the Prime Minister decided to dismiss, investigate, and arrest the Chairman of PetroVietnam, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Mr. Khanh was appointed acting Chairman.
According to a PetroVietnam report, at the end of 2015, despite the difficulties caused by sharp declines in the global crude oil price, the group’s mining production still reached 40.5 million tonnes. Total revenue in 2015 was VND560.1 trillion ($25.1 billion).
Other indicators such as consolidated revenue, total profit after tax, total assets, profit margin after tax, and total assets reached or exceeded plans.
