Viettel subsidiary records $29 million in revenue since arriving in the country from 2 million subscribers.
The Viettel Group’s concern in Cameroon, Nexttel, has earned revenue of $29 million just nine months are beginning operations.
It’s already signed up its 2 millionth subscriber; the highest number among Viettel’s overseas units.
Nexttel has put 1,100 base transceiver stations (BTS) into place around the African country, providing coverage to 70 per cent of the population.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, General Director of Nexttel, said it has 1,500 sales staff, 40,000 transaction points, and 97 authorized agents, which allow it to provide services throughout the country and ensure they are delivered in an easy and convenient manner.
It expects that by the end of this year it will have 1,600 BTS, providing even broader coverage than it has now.
Nexttel also targets signing on 3 million subscribers in Cameroon by the end of the year.
