Meeting comes as Vietnam Airlines takes possession of first A350-900 XWB.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Airbus CEO Thomas Enders at the government’s office on the afternoon of July 1 to mark Vietnam Airlines receiving a new Airbus A350-900 XWB.
Mr. Enders spoke of Vietnam’s potential and responded positively to all of the Prime Minister’s requests by committing to provide support for Vietnam Airlines so that the national flag carrier can reach high capacity and efficiency.
He also expressed a willingness to cooperate with Vietnam in the field of military aviation as well as aerospace aviation.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of the recent cooperation between Airbus and Vietnam Airlines and hoped to see the collaboration flourish into the future.
He would also like to see the two form a long-term strategic partnership and for more support to come from Airbus to Vietnam Airlines in regards to human resource training, the development of technical infrastructure for comprehensive maintenance, and the manufacture of particular components.
