Event assisting startups to held on June 18 in central city.
The StartupFair 2016 will be organized on June 18 in central Da Nang city, featuring a conference and exhibition.
Conferences will focus on startup ecosystems in Asia and the role of universities in developing such ecosystems.
The Fair will host 26 startup projects and have nine booths from universities and colleges. Eight startups with the most potential will be selected on the afternoon of June 18 to attempt to persuade foreign and domestic enterprises to invest.
Two German startup projects and a Singaporean project will also share their experiences at the Fair.
Mr. Vo Duy Khuong, Chairman of the Da Nang Entrepreneurship Support Company (DNES), the organizer of the event, said it is the largest event on startups to be held in Da Nang and will attract all startup projects in the city as well as foundations and investors from Vietnam, Germany and Singapore and international startup experts.
DNES has received investment from investment and development funds in the city and successful startups and is the first business incubator to operate under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Established in December 2015, DNES is part of efforts by authorities and the business community in Da Nang to create a startup ecosystem. Its main role is to support startups and businesses, incubate startups, and connect investment.
